About our school

At Adelaide East Education Centre we believe that every individual has the right to a quality and equitable education. Every student has a personalised one plan learning goals connected to the relevant curriculums (ABLES, Australian Curriculum and the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE)) to meet their individual needs.

Every individual deserves a voice. Our school caters and supports students with complex communication needs.  We seek to develop each student’s individual communication strategies and allow them to express themselves openly.

Our priority is to work with students, families and the community to prepare each student for their optimal post school pathway. Pathways for the future!

School Hours

  • 8:30am – 2:10pm Mondays
  • 8:30am – 3:10pm Tuesdays to Fridays

Our facilities

Commercial Kitchen

Our kitchen has all the commodities of a commercial kitchen and is used weekly by our CAFE Students to prepare, cook and serve meals to the school community.

Oval

We currently have access to the Charles Campbell College oval on the eastern side of our playground.

Gymnasium

Inside our gym has a fully equipped projector and sound system, kitchen and toilets. The gym has heating and cooling so it can be safely used across all seasons. 

Playground and gardens

We have two areas with playground equipment including in-ground trampolines, a swing hammock, climbing frame and swing set that provide a fun outdoor environment. Surrounding each playground is landscaped gardens. We also have a separate garden bed area where students can plant, nurture and learn. 

Library

A fully equipped Library which offers access to literacy items for students and staff.
Library sessions are timetabled by homegroup teachers on a weekly basis. Throughout the year students participate in The Premiers Reading Challenge, CBCA Book Week, National Simultaneous Story time and many more activities organised by library staff.
